What it involves
An order starts with an enquiry and ends with an invoice, but along the way it passes through so many hands that it falls apart into emails, spreadsheets and notes on someone's phone. What we promised, who went out and what was actually done on site is then always known by somebody else. An order system keeps that whole process in one place so that nobody has to hunt for it. Where exactly it starts, though, varies.
